Her poetry has been distributed widely with more than 100 million copies in the form of books, posters, cards, calendars and journals published in many languages.

During Flavia’s career she was a fashion designer, tap dancer, painter, writer and is best known for her simple poetry. Her poetry has inspired millions of people around the world from all walks of life. Her career began in 1945 as a tap dancer and in 1949 as a designer/merchandiser in footwear industry after the second world war. In 1960 she began her art career selling her paintings on the street in her beloved Los Angeles, California.
In 1962 her work had gained sufficient popularity to be asked to open her signature art gallery at the newly constructed Disneyland Hotel. The Disney family were among her earliest collectors and later The Walt Disney Company was to become publishers of her books. Notable California celebrities were collectors included Walt and Roy Disney, Steve McQueen, John Wayne and later Jim Morrison.
In 1965 a second gallery was opened in Laguna Beach, California, four additional galleries followed in Aspen, Colorado, Huntington Beach, California and Ports O Call, Long Beach, California and later Santa Barbara, California. Flavia’s work was widely published from 1960 through current day 2021 in the form of calendars which rivalled sales of America’s most published artist, Norman Rockwell with Flavia achieving single year sales topping 2 million copies.
Flavia’s work has the ability to inspire and to heal. She says what many of us feel but cannot say for ourselves. This is the key to her continued success and popularity.
